The Flame of Our Lies

Five friends from rural California are spending their last summer together, as they will be heading off to college in the fall. They were dubbed the "Monsters" by their school—friends since childhood, they even created their own code of honor.... Although they are very different—rich beauty Violet, charming joker Drummer, sincere Mo, untamed Luke, and rationalist Hannah—they have grown almost like family over their school years. However, it only takes the first spark of a forest fire for hidden malice, envy, and secret motives to surface from beneath their apparent closeness, threatening to destroy not only their friendship but the lives of each of the Monsters.
