Self-Study Guide to the Tajik Language

The "Self-Study Guide" contains the basics of Tajik grammar and conversational language; working with it will give the learner the opportunity not only to read simple texts but also to communicate in Tajik.
In preparing this publication, the verified methodology of... S. D. Arzumanyan has been left intact, but the textual material and partially the vocabulary reflecting Soviet realities have been updated. The author has avoided scientific exposition of Tajik grammar, since the target audience of the "Self-Study Guide" is a wide range of people without special linguistic training.
The studied grammatical and lexical material, for the sake of convenience in using the manual, is divided into 70 lessons structured by increasing difficulty and strictly adhering to the principle: from the familiar and mastered - to the unfamiliar, subject to being learned.
A priceless treasure consists of highly colorful Tajik proverbs and sayings. Special attention should be given to the latifa - a genre of concise humorous storytelling, samples of which are also provided in the lessons. These proverbs, sayings, and stories will undoubtedly enrich the active vocabulary of the readers.
When studying the language independently, self-monitoring is important, which is why at the end of the "Self-Study Guide" a Key to the exercises is provided.
